In November 2012 we released Sophos Anti-Virus Version 9, the latest version of our Linux and UNIX protection. Version 7 (the previous version) has now entered extended maintenance and will be retired in November 2013.
New functionality in Version 9 includes:
- Live Protection for Linux
Live malware lookups to enhance protection against the growing range of Windows, Linux, Mac and UNIX threats - FA Notify support
An alternative to TALPA for on-access scanning on 2.6.37+ kernel versions (Try the beta) - Solaris 11 support
On both Intel and SPARC systems
If you’re using our Linux and UNIX solution and want to upgrade, simply select the 9 recommended subscription in your Sophos Enterprise Console.
We will upgrade unmanaged (standalone) computers running Version 7 in April 2013. If you want to remain on Version 7 you should move to a managed version. We will automatically upgrade all managed computers to Version 9 as Version 7 nears retirement.
